DIY Nail Art: Goodbye Summer!!

Hi everyone!
So this is going to be the first DIY of the week :) I'm resuming my beloved Nail Art and beauty tutorials!! I would love to make many more posts like this, but my nails are so weak... If I attempt to wear them a little bit long, they break and my hands end up looking awful. I've tried everything and I just can't help it! But the length my nails have right now is enough to wear most of the nail art designs. I want to encourage you guys to give a try to Nail Art. It's not as difficult as it seems!! And it could be more relaxing than a kundalini session and more addictive than a Candy Crush marathon!!!

The design I made was inspired by the end of the summer. I hope you guys like it!!

Lee esto en Castellano
Hi everyone!
Here's a DIY Nail Art video tutorial inspired by these booties I made a few weeks ago and my new cat watch that I showed you on Instagram (@sylvia_daretodiy). I'm aware that this nail art is a little bit special and not everybody would dare to wear it. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this video!

(The best) Nail Art Inspiration

Lee esto en Castellano
Last week I discovered something I just couldn't keep to myself: it is, without any sort of doubt, the best nail art blog I've ever seen, Its name is Polish All The Nail.com. It is not easy to find creative, funny and elegant designs without all those tacky 3D roses. Enjoy the inspiration!
But there's something really sad in this story: I had already seen some of these designs but I hadn't ever heard of this wonderful blog. The reason is that some Instagram profiles (some of them with more than 600K followers) steal the contents that some talented people create and they don't even mention the author.

After seeing the blog of this girl, and all the work that's behind every post she makes (just take a look the quality of the pictures, she takes them with a macro) I decided to unfollow all those profiles. I know it's not easy because they post really nice pictures and so inspiring contents. However, we should all be aware that they are winning followers and making money thanks to the work of photographers, artists, designers and bloggers that remain in anonymity.
And here's my version of her giraffe design I showed you guys a few days ago on Instagram (sylvia_daretodiy).

Hope you guys loved this inspiration as much as I do!

Ballet nail art

(I don't want you to get fed up with ballet, this is going to be the last post about it, I promise!! :P )

Let's think about something really really weird to paint on the nails: What about Ness Lake Monster? Lobsters? An Egyptian mummy? Well, these days I've noticed that no matter how freak a nail art idea is, someone somewhere in the world has already done it and uploaded pictures to the Internet.

I thought about some nail art ideas that were supposed to be different but when I started googling... My hopes were dashed! However I searched ballet inspired nail art and I didn't find any similar design to the one I had in my head. So finally I'm closing ballet topic with this nail art tutorial. I hope you guys like it!
I've been thinking of buying nail art brushes for a while, and in the end I found them at Kiko (make-up stores in Europe). It's amazing how accurate your drawings can be with these brushes, much better than using toothpicks or needles.
Actually, the red stroke is not necessary. You can go without it and the result is also very nice. If you skip this last step, this nail art can be so easy to do. There's no need to have nail art brushes, you can achieve the same result with the nail polish brush. In fact, I only used my nail art brush for that red stroke.
Nail art doesn't usually come out well at the first attempt. However, it is so addictive and funny and not as difficult as it seems. It's perfect for when you're bored at home!!

Dare to wear: Nail art

Vía Instagram
Since a few months ago I've been obsessed with nailart. It's actually not as difficult as it seems, if you go step by step and layer by layer you can achieve awesome results. I haven't done a nail art tutorial since a long time ago: do you guys remember my Snow White nail tutorial? see here

Summer is the perfect time to wear colorful nails and daring designs, so now I'm definitely making another nail tutorial. Stay tuned!

Sweet poisoned apples Nail Art Tutorial

Photobucket
Today I'm doing a Nail Art tutorial, which is the last post related to Carnival and Snow White. Even though It may seem to be so complicated, It's actually a combination of some easy and simple steps. Just take it slow and let the layers dry well between the steps.

Start painting the shape of the apple with two brush strokes. It's like painting a heart but a little bit wider. The bite is completely optional.

Now, create a black border dipping a pin or a toothpick in black polish. You can skip this step if you have unsteady hands. Let it dry and go for the green leave. I mixed two polishes to get the green I wanted. Avoid mixing the colors so smoothly, so you'll get a more natural result. Add a touch of bright with white polish and use a cotton swab to clean the edges for a flawless finish.
